Monrovia, April 16, 2022 - On the occasion of the celebration of the 48th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Cuba and the Republic of Liberia, the President of the Liberia-Cuba Friendship Association, on behalf of all its members, delivered a congratulatory message to the Cuban Head of Mission Mercedes L. Martinez Herrera.
In this message, they indicate that this event has a special significance for the association since many of its members are the fruit of the bilateral relations between both countries thanks to the training of Liberian human resources by the Cuban government through its free Scholarship Plan to different nations of the world.
They point out that in the celebration of this anniversary, they once again join the call of the international community to condemn the application of the "illegal, unjust and criminal" siege by the different US administrations, its intensification in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, and the attempts to destabilize the Caribbean country.
Cuban diplomat Martinez Herrera thanked the members of the Liberia-Cuba friendship group for their gesture of solidarity.
