Monrovia, April 17, 2021.- The Liberian newspaper "Liberia News" highlights in its Saturday edition, the celebration of the VIII Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba.
The referred newspaper of this West African nation points out that Raúl Castro, first secretary of the Central Committee of the PCC, during the presentation of the Central Report, Cuba has preserved important social achievements in education, health and social security, in spite of the intensification of the US embargo against the island.
It added that Raul Castro expressed his "willingness to develop a respectful dialogue and build a new type of relationship with the United States", saying: "Cuba will not renounce the principles of the Revolution and socialism".
The newspaper also indicates that José Ramón Machado Ventura, second secretary of the Central Committee of the PCC, expressed that the political organization "guarantees national unity and represents the ideals of dignity, justice and social independence" for which generations of Cuban patriots have had to fight.
He underlines that, at national level, Cubans followed the news about the opening ceremony of the Congress through the coverage of the state media
