March by Windhoek main avenue condemns the blockade.

Namibia, October 27th, 2018- Independence Avenue, main artery of Windhoek, capital of Namibia, hosted a hundred Cubans and Namibians, who demanded the end of the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States government against Cuba.

The march, organized jointly by the Cuban embassy and the Namibia - Cuba Friendship Association, was held on this date to also support the vote on the Resolution condemning the UN blockade, which will be presented for the 27th time, the next October, 31st.

With slogans of unblock Cuba and long live to Cuba, Namibia, the Revolution, Fidel and the friendship between both peoples, the participants showed their support to the Caribbean island in this important battle.

Likewise, the National Anthem of Cuba was sung by those present at the intersection of the aforementioned Independence Avenue and Fidel Castro Street, providing the march of greater symbolism.

The event contributed to give more visibility to the unjust US policy against Cuba in Namibian society.

Aldo Luis Fuentes, Deputy Head of Cuba's diplomatic mission, in statements offered to the Namibia Press Agency (NAMPA) and reproduced by other media, explained that the blockade is the main obstacle to the development of Cuba and a flagrant violation of the human rights of the Cuban people.

To culminate, the participants expressed as an initiative their solidarity messages to Cuba in one of the winning posters of the contest against the blockade organized in Havana in 2017.
