The Consul General of Cuba, Jorge YanierCastellanos, together with his Caribbean counterparts accredited in the city of Toronto, held a meeting with Monte McNaughton, Minister of Labor, Immigration, Training and Skills Development of the province of Ontario.
In addition, Andrea Khanjin, Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs of Ontario; Ariella Kimmel, Director of Strategic Communication of the Minister's office and other officials of the Ministry of Labor, Immigration, Training and Skills Development also attended the meeting representing Canada. Meanwhile, the Consuls General of Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, Grenada, Jamaica, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Vincent and the Grenadines also participated representing the Caribbean region.
The meeting addressed issues of interest to the parties, especially those related to the possibilities offered by the province for the hiring of temporary workers and the relevant procedures and guarantees.
The Cuban diplomat held a brief private meeting with Minister McNaughton, in which he ratified the willingness to analyze mutually beneficial projects and agreed on holding a working meeting to expand on these issues.
The Consul General also held a private meeting with Andrea Khanjin.
