During a pleasant meeting, Sandra Ramirez Rodriguez, Director of the North America Desk of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples ICAP and solidarity organizations and Cubans living in Montreal held a fruitful exchange in the Canadian city. The meeting was also attended by Susana Malmierca Benítez, General Consul in Montreal, accompanied by other members of the Consulate.
The occasion was an opportunity to express gratitude for the expressions of affection and perseverance in condemning the genocidal blockade imposed by the U.S. on Cuba. Likewise, the effort made by our country in the face of the current complex situation was highlighted.
During the meeting, a summary was made of ICAP's work with the different associations of friendship with Cuba, mainly the solidarity groups based in Canada and especially in Quebec. Likewise, she thanked Quebec for its support to the petition for the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to the "Henry Reeve" International Contingent of Doctors Specialized in Disaster Situations and Serious Epidemics.
The integration of friends of solidarity and Cuban residents to the monthly caravans in support of the "Bridges of Love" initiative was also mentioned.
Poetry and music enlivened the moment where respect and admiration for Cuba was evidenced.
