This morning, there was a fraternal meeting of the Greek Committee, CUBA IS NOT ALONE-Nobel to Cuban doctors with the Ambassador of Cuba in Athens in a cordial and friendly atmosphere.
The president of the Committee, Giannis Milios, announced the actions that support the group, as well as the initiative they proposed for the nomination of the Henry Reeve Brigade for the Nobel Peace Prize, as a tribute to Cuban doctors, for their contribution and international cooperation in confronting the pandemic. On the part of the members of the group, reference was made to Cuba as an example of struggle, resistance and internationalism that inspires other peoples of the world.
The Ambassador highlighted the great importance of this generous gesture that recognizes and dignifies the work of the Henry Reeve Brigade, as well as the extensive and humanitarian work that, over many years, thousands of Cuban doctors have been carrying out in dozens of countries different continents.
He thanked for the actions of solidarity with the Cuban people carried out by the Committee and highlighted the common elements that unite both peoples. In addition, he offered extensive information on the current situation in Cuba, and the strengthening of the economic, commercial and financial blockade maintained by the United States government in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
At the end, both parties expressed their desire to continue strengthening the bonds of friendship and solidarity.
