Ottawa, April 28, 2017. The Tourism Counselor of the Cuban Embassy in Canada, Carmen Casal, held a meeting with the Montreal journalists invited by MINTUR to participate in the 37th edition of the International Fair of Tourism FITCuba 2017.
The journalists received a wide explanation on the most important professional event of the Cuban tourist industry, which will take place from May 2 to 6 in the city of Holguin. With Germany as a country of honor, participants in this fair will carry out an extensive program that includes a tour of several cities in the East of Cuba, visits to historical and tourist sites of interest, meetings with local authorities and the tourism industry, conferences and participation in the cultural festival "Romerías de Mayo", to be held during those days in Holguin, among many other activities. More than 1,400 delegates from dozens of countries, including Germany, Canada, Mexico and Italy, are expected to attend this event.
The Consul General of Cuba in Montreal, Mara Bilbao, and the first secretary in charge of the Press Office of the Cuban Embassy in Ottawa, Máriem Martínez, were also present at this meeting, held at the headquarters of the Consulate General of Cuba in Montreal.
