Athens, March 11. It took place at the Embassy of Cuba in Athens, a friendly meeting between members of the Parliamentary Group of Friendship with Cuba in the Greek Parliament, Ambassador Zelmys María Dominguez Cortina and the counselor of the Embassy of Cuba in Greece José Oriol Marrero Martinez.
An interesting debate took place on the current situation of the Caribbean island, the effects of the unjust economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba, the main campaigns against the Cuban revolution carried out by the United States and its spokesmen in several forums including the European Parliament, the situation in Latin America and the Caribbean, the achievements of the Cuban revolution in various areas, mainly on biotechnology, scientific advances, and the multiple potentials of collaboration, among other issues.
There was also comment on the situation of the coronavirus and the preparation of the Cuban health system for this.
They were invited to the photographic exhibition "José Martí with Greece in the Heart" which will take place at two Athens metro stations on March 13th as we have already announced.
They were also informed of the invitation sent by the President of the Commission of Foreign Affairs of the National Assembly of Cuba, Yolanda Ferrer, for the group to visit Cuba on the most convenient date for both sides to further expand the ties between the two peoples and parliaments.
It was an important and fruitful encounter.
