During a working visit to the southern state of Kerala, the Chargé d'Affaires a.i. of the Cuban Embassy in India, Abel Aballe Despaigne, participated in a meeting of solidarity. The event was attended by the president of the Committee for Solidarity with Cuba in that state and former speaker of the State Legislative Assembly, Vinaykumar, as well as representatives of different forces of the solidarity movement with Cuba in Kerala.
The meeting reiterated the support and solidarity with the Cuban people in their struggle against the unjust and criminal blockade of the US government, as well as the inclusion of Cuba in the unilateral list of countries that allegedly sponsor terrorism. The recent destabilization attempts and defamation campaigns of the United States against the Cuban Revolution in recent years were denounced. Likewise, the achievements of the Cuban Revolution in health, education, biotechnology, culture, among other sectors, were highlighted, in spite of the reinforcement of the blockade. Finally, they demanded the immediate lifting of the blockade and the exclusion of Cuba from the spurious list of state sponsors of terrorism.
For his part, the Cuban diplomat highlighted the historic relations of friendship, solidarity and cooperation between the peoples of India and Cuba for more than 60 years. He expressed gratitude for the invariable expressions of support and solidarity towards the Cuban people in their struggle against the blockade and reiterated the willingness to continue working to strengthen relations.
