Monrovia, May 11th, 2018-, Mr. Lawrence Morris, member of the House of Representatives of Liberia, today paid a courtesy visit to the Chargé d'affaires of Cuba, Yordenis Despaigne Vera, who welcomed him to the headquarters of the Cuban Embassy in Monrovia.
Mr. Morris expressed his satisfaction at visiting the Cuban diplomatic headquarters and thanked Cuba for its historical support for Liberia, especially during the Ebola epidemic that his country suffered and in the formation of Liberian human resources. He moved his desire to work together with the diplomatic representation for the strengthening of bilateral relations in general and in particular for the increase of the links between the parliaments of both nations.
For his part, the Chargé d'Affaires thanked the Liberian Representative for his visit, as well as Liberia's support for Cuba's fight against the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed unjustly by the US on the Cuban people. He assured the willingness of the Cuban government to continue supporting the recovery of the Liberian health sector as well as to expand the collaboration towards other sectors of mutual interest.
The meeting allowed corroborating the good state of the relations between both nations and establishing a mutual commitment to continue working to increase the bonds of friendship and solidarity between their respective Parliaments. (CubaMinrex /EmbaCuba Liberia)
