Port of Spain. Cuba's ambassador, H.E. Gustavo Veliz, visited yesterday afternoon the Institute of International Relations (Diplomatic Academy) of the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine Campus, where he met with its director, Dr. Annita Montoute.
During the fraternal conversation they valued the possibilities of expanding the exchanges that have been held so far with Cuba, through the Higher Institute of International Relations (ISRI), the University of Havana and in particular the Caribbean Chair of that institution. The prestigious academician praised the scientific level of Cuban professors and researchers and highlighted her high appreciation of Cuba's collaboration with the Caribbean, especially in the health branch.
As part of its academic activities, the Institute is holding a series of conferences "Diplomatic Dialogues" to update on relations with the Caribbean, with the participation of diplomats accredited in Port of Spain. The Ambassador also visited the Norman Girvan Library at the Institute.
