Riyadh, May 18th - The Minister of Health of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Fahad bin Abdulrahman Al-Jalajil, received the Ambassador of Cuba, Vladimir Gonzalez, at the ministry's headquarters, located in the so-called Digital City. The director of International Relations of that Organization, Sara Al-Sayed, also attended the meeting.
Prior to the interview, the Cuban diplomat was invited to tour the Seha Virtual Hospital, a specialized institution that uses the latest innovative technologies to provide 30 specialized services and supports 130 health facilities throughout the Kingdom.
This hospital is one of the priority initiatives in the health sector transformation program that contributes to the country's "Vision 2030", improves the culture of virtual medicine in health authorities and provides the best virtual health services at national and global level.
During the pleasant meeting between the minister and the ambassador, different issues about bilateral relations between Cuba and Saudi Arabia were addressed, particularly in the health’s field, based on the Executive Program to Provide Medical Services signed between the respective ministries in 2013.
Since the signature of the Executive Program, 623 Cuban health professionals have provided their services as collaborators in the Kingdom and currently 135 are working as such. They are located in different Saudi regions, most of them in Jizan in the area border with Yemen.
In the interview, the opportunity was taken to invite the minister to visit Cuba, suggesting that he do so within the framework of the IV International Convention “Cuba-Health 2022” and the XV Trade Fair "Health for All", events that will take place from 17 to 21 October 2022 at the Conventions Palace in Havana.
