Minister of Justice of Cuba spoke with representatives of the European Union

UE

The Minister of Justice of Cuba, Oscar Silvera, met this Wednesday here with ambassadors of the countries of the European Union (EU) to give continuity to the bilateral political dialogue.
Silvera said on Twitter that the meeting is part of the Cuba-EU Political Dialogue Agreement, implemented since 2017 and which constitutes the governing instrument of bilateral relations.

According to the cited source, the meeting was characterized by a sincere, open, respectful, and profitable conversation, with the participation of deputy ministers and general directors of the Ministry of Justice.

Cuba and the EU relaunched their relations in 2016 with the signing of the Agreement that put an end to two decades of the so-called common position, which conditioned the relations of the community bloc to demands considered unacceptable by the island.

This document made it possible to intensify cooperation and generated opportunities for exchange on issues of mutual interest, such as human rights, unilateral coercive measures and sustainable development.
