Wellington, 23 June 2017. In a friendly meeting held at the Embassy of Cuba with the heads of Mission of the GRULAC, the Minister of Arts, Culture and Heritage, Maggie Barry, expressed her support for a greater exchange between New Zealand and Latin American nations.
During the event, the Ambassador of Cuba, Mario Alzugaray, offered details about the Latina America and Spain Film Festival (LASFF), which in its 2017 edition will have its inauguration at Te Papa Museum on October 20th, with the screening of the film "Cuba Libre", by Jorge Luis Sánchez filmmaker.
The ambassadors of Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Mexico, also present at this meeting, provided extensive information on the work of cultural promotion of their respective countries in New Zealand and assessed opportunities to increase mutual understanding by means of further promoting exchanges between artists of both sides.
