The Minister of Science, Technology and Environment of Cuba, Ms. Elba Rosa Pérez Montoya presides the Cuban delegation that will participate in the International Conference of the IAEA Technical Cooperation

The Minister of Science, Technology and Environment of Cuba, Ms. Elba Rosa Pérez Montoya arrived at Vienna on 28 May in the afternoon heading the Cuban delegation that will participate in the International Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Technical Cooperation to be held from 30 May to 1 June.

The Conference is organized in the margins of the 60th Anniversary of the Agency and its Technical Cooperation Programme. The international gathering entitled Sixty Years and Beyond – Contributing to Developmentseeks to strengthen the alliances to foster Technical Cooperation Programme as IAEA´s main mechanism to offer assistance to the Member States towards the development.

The Cuban Minister has been invited to share the Cuban experiences during the 40 years it has been participating in the Agency´s Technical Cooperation Programme. She will have a tight working schedule which includes encounters with IAEA Director General, Mr. Yukiya Amano and the Executive Secretary of CTBTO, Dr. Lassina Zerbo.

In the framework of the Conference there will be a Cuban stand presenting some information and images about the results of the more than 100 domestic projects and 170 regional projects Cuba has been part of. The delegation attending the conference is composed of the Ambassador H.E. Mr. Juan Antonio Fernández, the Deputy-minister Mr. José Fidel Santana and the President of the Cuban Nuclear Agency Mr. Daniel Aldama together with other representatives from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment of Cuba and the Permanent Mission of Cuba to IAEA.
