Monrovia, May 24, 2018-, The Minister of Youth and Sports of Liberia, Mr. D. Zeogar Wilson, received in his office the Chargé d'Affaires of Cuba, Second Secretary Yordenis Despaigne Vera. The second Secretary of the Cuban diplomatic mission, Carmen Maury Toledo, also participated in the courtesy visit.
During the meeting, the head of the Cuban diplomatic mission congratulated the Liberian official for his recent appointment as head of the Youth and Sports portfolio. He also acknowledged and thanked the historic support of Liberia for Cuba in the fight for the lifting of the blockade and ratified the Cuban government's willingness to contribute to Liberia's reconstruction and development process.
On the other hand, Zeogar Wilson acknowledged the important contribution of Cuba to the formation and training of young Liberians in the sports field, while he wished that future initiatives could be made in the field of sport, to take advantage of the experience of Cuba for the benefit of the professional development of the new generations of Liberians.
Prior to his current appointment, Mr. D. Zeogar Wilson served as assistant minister for Administrative Affairs within the Ministry of Youth and Sports. He has in his record having been a goalkeeper for Mighty Barrolle and the national team of Liberia: Lone Star. (CubaMinrex / EmbaCuba Liberia)
