The Moncada Day is celebrated in Ottawa

Ottawa, July 26, 2018. In the afternoon of this Thursday, Ottawa - Cuba Connections solidarity organization celebrated with the members of the Cuban Embassy in the Canadian capital, the 65th Anniversary of the assault on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel Barracks.

In the meeting was highlighted the importance of the date, the reasons that led the young people, conducted by Fidel Castro, to star in this feat. It was also evident the deep commitment with Cuba of the members of this solidary association.

The Chargé d'Affaires ad interim, Giuvel Orozco Ortega, conveyed the gratitude for the friendship and solidarity towards the Cuban people of the organization Ottawa-Cuba Connections, and the continuous denunciation of the US blockade against the island. He also commented with those present on the updating of the economic, political and social model; and the process of analysis and debate that the Cuban population will carry out around the text of the new draft Constitution of the Republic of Cuba. At the end of his speech he gave the solidarity group, on behalf of the Embassy of Cuba, the book in English "Raúl Castro: a man in Revolution".
