New Economic and Commercial Counsellor of the Cuban Embassy arrives in Namibia.

Namibia, October 22, 2021- Yamila Martínez Abreu, an official of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment of the Republic of Cuba, arrived in Namibia to assume the position of Economic and Commercial Counsellor of the Cuban Embassy in this African country. Martínez Abreu will replace Juan Carlos Oliva Núñez, who has served in the position, with satisfactory results, for 5 years.

Ambassador Sidenio Acosta received the new official, along with other colleagues from the Cuban State Mission in Namibia.

As part of the handover process, both Councillors have held meetings with the Executive Directors of the Namibian Ministries of Urban and Rural Development and Fisheries, Nghidinua Daniel and Annnely Haiphene, respectively. Similarly, they held a meeting with senior executives of the Ministry of Sports and National Service.

In the coming days, high-ranking representatives of the Namibia Students Financial Assistance Fund and the ministries of Health and Social Service and International Relations and Cooperation will receive the officials of the Cuban Embassy.

Yamila Martínez Abreu travels to Namibia with the aim of continuing to promote economic, commercial and cooperation relations between the two countries.
