Patriotic declaration of the Cuban collaborators in Saint Lucia

The Cuban collaborators working in Saint Lucia, belonging to the Medical Brigade, the Henry Reeve Brigade, UNECA and Cubadeportes have issued a statement in light of what they consider the recent "actions promoted by the United States Government and citizens in this country to provoke a "soft blow" in our homeland".

In this context, the declaration signed by all the collaborators of these sectors on December 14th reaffirms the following positions: rejection of "the farce and rude pro-American action of the so-called San Isidro movement. We do not identify with those who try to glorify other flags, other presidents, who obey and act in a mercenary manner in line with the aggressive and domination interests of the United States Government".

"We repudiate those and their actions who seek to destabilize our country and who threaten its political and social system" and "the gross manipulation and lies that try to denigrate the cultural policy of the Cuban Revolution and who claim to present themselves as artists to people who only pursue political and subversive interests, in line with the policy of the United States".

"We believe that it is essential to strengthen the broad and inclusive dialogue in all sectors of our society and government institutions, particularly in the cultural sector, but we believe that it must be based on respect, without external interference, constructive, based on our legality and Constitution".

We share, in this way, the statement of the Ministry of Culture of Cuba, in the rejection of those who "have been excluded for a long time because of their attacks on patriotic symbols, common crimes and frontal attacks on the leadership of the Cuban Revolution, under the guise of art". As our Bronze Titan said, we do not understand those who "have direct contact and receive funding, logistical support and propaganda support from the United States Government and its officials".

This Declaration reiterates our demand to the United States Government to lift the blockade and it rejects the interventionist actions of this Government in the affairs of our country, which include the "financing, orientation, instruction and maintaining the aggressive policy of destroying the Cuban Revolution".

It is reaffirmed that our flag is the one that "José Martí raised, with which the mambises fought, the same one with which Revolution was made and is made and the same one that we honorably raised through our work as representatives of Cuba in Saint Lucia".

"To those who call for violent actions, who call for military actions and armed intervention against our land, we can only respond to it as the Cuban people have done throughout its history: Homeland or death, we will overcome". "Long live Cuba and its Revolution".
