Photo exhibition "Havana Passion: the magic of 500 years" by artist Gabriel Dávalos opens in Australia

Canberra, November 25.- On November 22, the photographic exhibition of the Cuban artist Gabriel Dávalos was inaugurated at the headquarters of the Canberra Museum and Gallery, "Havana Passion: the magic of 500 years" organized by the Embassy of Cuba in Australia in cooperation with Instituto Cervantes of Sydney.

In his opening remarks, the Cuban Ambassador Ariel Lorenzo Rodríguez expressed that the 15 images that are part of the exhibition in which a group of talented dancers from the National Ballet of Cuba are leading, invited to revere an exotic, intense and passionate Havana which has managed to preserve the architectural heritage of its colonial past, the one that the traveller delights to admire and the one that its inhabitants live worshiping. The exhibition is dedicated to the 500 years of the foundation of Havana city and it is part of the celebrations for the 30th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and Australia.

 

The evening was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps and the Government of Canberra, officials of the Foreign Ministry, Cubans residing in Australia and friends of the Caribbean nation on this island-continent.

The exhibition will be open to the public until next November 29 in Canberra, and from 3 to 10 December it will be based at the Technological University of Sydney.
