Accra, March 12 - The State Mission of the Republic of Cuba to the Republic of Ghana is initiating the popular consultation on the new Code of Families as part of the broad participatory process in which the largest of the Antilles is immersed.
With the presence and active participation of 20 voters, key issues of the Family Code were discussed, reflecting the reality of today's Cuban society. This process of the Code is another example of the inclusive society to which all Cubans belong.
As part of the meeting, a special moment was dedicated to welcoming the direct participation in the Cuban democratic processes of a 16-year-old young man who, for the first time, exercised his right as a Cuban citizen.
This is the first of three meetings to be held on Ghanaian soil with the members of the State Mission. On March 1, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, announced that 125 electoral commissions had been formed abroad and that 1160 meetings had been scheduled to discuss such an important law. This important process will be extended to Cubans living abroad through the portal www.nacionyemigracion.cu.
