Presentation on Cuba and the 2030 Agenda in Parliament.

Wellington, November 22. Ambassador Edgardo Valdés participated as a speaker in an event in Parliament, sponsored by the Member of Parliament for the Labour Party Vanushi Walters, and the United Nations Association of New Zealand.

The Cuban representative and a diplomat from Japan presented the experiences of their countries on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and exchanged with the attendees about the need to reduce inequalities and increase cooperation.

The Cuban ambassador highlighted the impact of the United States blockade on Cuba's efforts to advance its development and meet the 17 goals set by the UN in the 2030 Agenda.

Other attendees included Wellington Deputy Mayor, Laurie Foon.
