President of the Islamic Republic of Iran will visit Cuba

Responding to an invitation by Army General Raul Castro Ruz, next September 18th the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, H.E. Dr. Hassan Rouhani, will start an official visit to Cuba. He will arrive to Havana from Venezuela, where he is going to participate in the XVII Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).

 

During his stay on the Island, Dr. Rouhani will hold official talks with his Cuban counterpart and it is expected that important bilateral agreements will be signed in the context of the visit.

 

Cuba and Iran reestablished its diplomatic relations on August 8th, 1979, a few months after the triumph of the Islamic Revolution under the leadership of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.

 

Dr. Rohani became president of the Islamic Republic of Iran on August 3rd, 2013, as a result of the presidential elections held that year in the Persian nation.
