President of Kenya receives Letters of Credentials from Cuban Ambassador.

In the morning of this Friday, February 17, 2017, comrade Ernesto Gómez Díaz, presented to the President of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta, the credentials that accredit him as Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to the Republic of Kenya.

During the brief exchange, the Cuban Ambassador thanked Kenya for its support in international forums in the fight against the US blockade imposed on its country, and for the decision to open its Embassy in Cuba in 2016. Likewise, it expressed Cuba's willingness to continue to advance and diversify the existing relations of cooperation between the two nations.

The Kenyan leader reiterated his condolences for the death of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, whom he described as a great world leader and expressed his country's determination to deepen ties of friendship and cooperation with Cuba.

The ceremony was attended by Ambassador Mónica Juma, Principal Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade of Kenya and other senior officials of the African Chancellery.
