Monrovia, May 25, 2018-, The President of the Republic of Liberia. HE Mr. George M. Weah, today sent a heartfelt message of condolences to his Cuban counterpart, Mr. Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, on the occasion of the lamentable plane crash that has mourned the Cuban homeland.
In his letter, received by the Cuban Embassy in Monrovia, the Liberian leader said that "with shock and sadness we have received news of the death of at least one hundred and ten persons and injuries of three others as a result of the plane crash in Havana on Friday May 18, 2018 ". He added that "As the people of Cuba endure this great loss, I, on behalf of the Government and People of the Republic of Liberia and in my own name extend to you, and through you, to the Government and People of Cuba, especially the bereaved family, our heartfelt condolences. "
The message of the Head of State of Liberia, adds to the extensive list of presidents, government officials, popular leaders, friends of solidarity and national and foreign public, who have expressed words of encouragement, support and empathy to the sadness to the people of Cuba for such a fateful event.
