In the framework of the "Ottawa Welcomes the World" celebration, the Embassy of Cuba has organized a Cuban Day at Lansdowne Park. We have developed a very attractive and diverse program that features Tourism, Education, Music, Dance, Gastronomy and many other surprises.
The attractions include performances by famous Cuban guitar player Aldo Rodriguez, and the Hillcrest High School Band that recently participated in a cultural exchange in Cuba. The Band will perform a repertoire that includes Cuban music with the presence of Daya Aceituno, teacher and band director arrived directly from the Island for the occasion. Two sessions of salsa dance will be offered by the artistic Director Jose Carret. There will also be a talk on Cuban Nature by the Ph.D. in Sciences Freddy Rodriguez and aworkshop for children of Cuban music by the music teacher Daya Aceituno, who will create an interactive percussion band. That will be so much fun! The highlight of the day will be the raffle of one week all-inclusive trip for two to Cayo Coco, a tropical paradise located north of central Cuba. You can consult all these events and many others in the Program. http://calendar.ottawa2017.ca/events/ottawa-welcomes-the-world-cuba/
