Roseau, October 11, 2019. The Prime Minister of Dominica, Honorable Roosevelt Skerrit, received the cuban Ambassador, Ulises Arranz Fernández, at the headquarters government of this country, today, October 11th, 2019.
During the meeting, the cuban Ambassador thanked the condemnation to the US government blockade against the people of Cuba, who made the President of the Commonwealth of Dominica, His Excellency Charles Savarin, in his speech during the general debate of the 74th Session of the General Assembly of the United Nations, when he said: “We ask once again that the unjustified and continuous economic blockade against Cuba be put to an end, in order to unleash the vast potential of the Cuban people, so that it assumes its proper role in the world economic and commercial system”. For his part, the Prime Minister of Dominica reiterated to the cuban Ambassador, the traditional position of the government of Dominica condemning the blockade.
The meeting took place in a friendly environment like the one that characterizes the relations between both countries and allowed analyze issues of bilateral interest that will contribute to increasing political, diplomatic and commercial relations.
