A representation of specialists of the National General Staff of the Civil Defense of Cuba and the Cuban Environment Agency, successfully completed a work program with the Vincentian authorities in the framework of the "Project to strengthen early warning systems for risk reduction of disasters, through knowledge and the transfer of methodological tools ", sponsored by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
The specialists shared with their colleagues from the National Emergency Management Organization (NEMO), with officials from the Ministry of Sustainable Development and other Vincentian state entities, linked to the environment, the Cuban experience in identifying risks in the short, medium and long term, the design of the possible measures to adopt, the elaboration of the consequent contingency plans and the methodological tools to foresee, face and minimize the risks of disasters.
The Cuban delegation toured the communities most affected by different natural disasters in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
The Cuban Ambassador, Vilma Reyes Valdespino and the Second Secretary Víctor Simón, met with the Cuban specialists at the end of their busy work schedule in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
