The Acting Deputy Director and General Director of the Center for State Control of Medicines, Equipment and Medical Devices of Cuba (CECMED), MSc. Yaquelín Rodríguez, and the Executive Director of the Food and Drug Authority (FDA) Ghana, Ms. Delese A. A. Darko, signed a Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation, exchange of experiences, training and development of projects between both regulatory agencies.
The signing of the document was carried out in both capitals, in Accra on October 29, and in Havana on November 13, 2020.
Present at the signing were the Ambassador of Cuba to Ghana, Pedro Luis Despaigne González; the Charge d'Affaires a.i of the Embassy of Ghana in Havana, Mr. Yakubu Alhassan; Mrs. Mercy Mintah Gyampoh, Director of Trive Resources Ltd. Company and Mr. Seth Seaneke, Deputy Executive Director (Acting) and Chief of the FDA Drug Registration and Inspection Directorate; as well as representatives of the Cuban Foreign Ministry and CECMED.
On November 24, 2020, and with the presence of the media, the signed document was officially delivered by the Cuban Ambassador to the Executive Director of FDA. It was also sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration and the Ministry of Health of Ghana. In parallel, the Cuban homeopathic product VidatoX® 30 CH was introduced to begin the registration process in the country. (Cubaminrex / Embacuba Ghana)
