Saint Lucia personalities support the Henry Reeve Brigade for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Two important political figures from Saint Lucia, who served as the highest representatives of their state and government, conveyed support for the nomination of the Henry Reeve Cuban Medical Brigade for the Nobel Peace Prize. His Excellency Dame Pearlette Louisy, former Governor General, and Honorable Dr Kenny Anthony, former Prime Minister and current Member of the House of Assembly, joined the campaign launched by the Humanistic Solidarity Association Saint Lucia - Cuba to give this high recognition to the Henry Reeve Brigade.

Both personalities subscribed the nomination through the formal channels of the Nobel Peace Prize Committee, highlighting that the Henry Reeve International Brigade of Medical Specialists in Disaster Situations and Serious Epidemics has been a true symbol of solidarity and international cooperation. In addition, they noted that the Brigade has been an example of South-South cooperation, which has allowed Cuba, together with Saint Lucia and other Caribbean countries, to collaborate and contribute effectively to the development of the health care system in the region. They recognized the outstanding work of the Henry Reeve Brigades in different parts of the world to fight the Covid 19 pandemic, and in particular in Saint Lucia and the other countries in the area. For 15 years, the Henry Reeve Cuban Medical Brigade have brought to every continent the values of solidarity, humanism and the exercise of the fundamental right to health and life. The first emergency faced by the Brigade, a few days after its creation, was in Guatemala, to assist the population affected by the floods that occurred in 2005. The work of the Brigade is also highlighted following the impact of the October 2005 earthquake in Pakistan, where nearly 3,000 Cuban health care professionals worked. Since its creation, the Brigade has been present in more than 50 nations on every continent and nearly 10,000 Cuban health care professionals have participated.
