Castries, November 2, 2017. Senator the Honourable Mary Isaac, Minister for Health and Wellness, received the Cuban Ambassador, Jorge Francisco Soberon Luis, who presented the Minister with the invitation to participate in the International Health Convention "Cuba Salud 2018" and the "Health for All" Fair, to take place in April 2018 in Havana.
During the meeting, the positive state and perspectives of Cuban medical cooperation were confirmed.
The Cuban Medical Brigade carries out tens of thousands of consultations every year and hundreds of surgical interventions that save lives and contribute to the well-being of the people of Saint Lucia. It is integrated by an ophthalmology team as well as highly qualified specialists with experience in various areas of importance for the health situation in that island of the Eastern Caribbean, where it’s noble and effective activity has been developed for more than ten years.
