Second meeting of resident Cubans was held in Hanoi

The Cuban Embassy in Hanoi hosted on December 14 the second meeting of Cuban residents, with the presence of the nationals living in the northern half of Vietnam.

On this occasion, the Cuban ambassador in the Indo-Chinese country, Lianys Torres Rivera, reviewed the relevant political events that took place in the country in 2019, such as the approval of a new Constitution with broad popular support, the election of the President and the Vice President of the Republic, as well as the President of the National Assembly.

2019 was another year of struggle and victories, in which our people faced challenges such as the new measures to reinforce the US-imposed blockade, the financial fence, and Washington's actions against Cuban fuel imports, he said.

The Head of Mission reiterated the call to the IV "La Nación y la Emigración" Conference, which will be hosted in Havana between April 8 and 10, 2020, as part of the continuous and irreversible process of rapprochement between Cuba and the Cuban community abroad .

Torres Rivera emphasized that next year Vietnam and Cuba will turn 60 years of diplomatic relations, and she invited resident Cubans to participate in the cultural activities that will take place in Hanoi on this occasion.
