Solidarity Cuba-India at the 10th All India Conference of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) in Kochi, Kerala.

New Delhi, India, February 6, 2017. The Deputy Head of  Mission of our Embassy in India Marileydis D. Morales participated last February 3 in the International Session of the 10th All-India Conference of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), held in Kochi, Kerala, at the request of the DYFI and the Communist Party of India Marxist.

The event was propitious to thank once again the great sympathy for Cuba and Fidel from these young people and to update the friends of the solidarity in Kerala as well as other assistants on our process of socialist construction, the legacy of Fidel, Che Guevara, the foreign policy of the Cuban Revolution and our fight against the blockade and for the devolution of the territory occupied by the Guantánamo Naval Base.

This conference was held from 1 to 5 this month with the attendance of delegates from Portugal, Greece, Sri Lanka and representatives of the Youth Unity of Bangladesh (YUB). Many other countries sent messages of solidarity with the DYFI Conference whose organization has 15 million members and has a strong presence in universities, work centers, etc.DYFI was formed in Ludhiana, India on 3rd November 1980 and it is a progressive youth organization inspired by anti-imperialist, democratic and socialist ideas.

For his part, Mr. Sabbaha Ali Khan Colince, secretary general of the United Youth of Bangladesh, gave an invitation to his 7th National Conference on 25 and 27 February to take place in that country. The Embassy has forwarded information on the 10th DYFI Conference and the invitation of the United Youth of Bangladesh to the General Secretariat of the Union of Young Communists of Cuba, with the aim of reactivating relations with the UJC and promoting a greater exchange of Information and relationships among youth organizations.
