The regional conference of the Indian Society for Cultural Cooperation and Friendship (ISCUF) in the state of Tamil Nadu was held in the presence of the Cuban Ambassador to India, Alejandro Simancas Marin, and the state Minister for Urban Development, K. N. Nehru. During his speech, the Minister highlighted the historic friendly regarding between the two countries and the admiration and respect for the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, who played a leading role in building bilateral ties.
The Secretary General of ISCUF, Bijay Kumar, pointed out that friendship and solidarity with Cuba, as well as its defense against imperial pretensions and the U.S. blockade will continue to be a fundamental line of work of the organization. Bijay also announced that they are preparing a trip to Havana at the beginning of 2023, with which they intend to reaffirm the collaboration with the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) and show their solidarity with the Island.
The head of the Cuban diplomatic Mission, for his part, thanked the gestures of support, solidarity and friendship on the part of ISCUF and the people of Tamil Nadu, ratified that they will continue working on the basis of these principles that unite us and wished success to the State Conference of the organization, which is being held as part of the preparation of the National Conference, to be held in mid-December.
