Monrovia, January 28, 2023 - The Cuban Embassy in Liberia and members of the Liberia-Cuba solidarity group gathered at the diplomatic headquarters of Cuba in Monrovia to pay tribute to the most universal Cuban on the 170th anniversary of his birth.
In the conversation developed by the Cuban Head of Mission Mercedes Martinez Herrera with the friends of Cuba, the validity of the work of the Cuban national hero Jose Marti was present, the teachings of the most universal of Cubans, giving those present the opportunity to feel the Marti's legacy that Cubans have in their identity.
Diplomat Martínez Herrera also referred to the unity of the Cuban people in the defense of the revolutionary process, of which the Apostle of Independence is a symbol and paradigm, and ended her speech by referring to the V International Conference For the Balance of the World, a conclave that hosted several forums for debate on the magnitude of Marti's work and his concerns for the future of humanity, event that reaffirms Martí's anti-imperialist thinking.
For his part, the president of the Liberian solidarity organization Kesselee K. Kanneh recalled that Martí saw the birth of the empire, but also saw the problems of the peoples of the Third World, particularly those of Latin America, and above all, understood that the independence of Cuba was the balance of the world.
Liberians who studied in Cuba shared Martí's phrases, recalled activities and initiatives they carried out to pay homage to the apostle and promote his legacy.
