Sri Lankan Minister of Plantations meets with the Cuban Ambassador.

Sri Lanka, October 5, 2021. Dr. Ramesh Pathirana, Member of Parliament and Minister of Plantations of Sri Lanka received at the headquarters of the Ministry of Plantations, the Ambassador of Cuba Andrés Marcelo González Garrido who paid him a courtesy visit.

During the cordial meeting, both exchanged on matters of mutual interest related to the cultivation and production of coconut.

Sri Lanka and Cuba hold exchanges on coconut cultivation, and in this context delegations from both countries have visited the respective countries, this cooperation is expected to increase.

The Ambassador of Cuba provided information to the Minister of Plantations of Sri Lanka about the International Agro-Forestry Convention that will take place in Cuba in June 2022, sponsored by the Institute of Agro-Forestry Research (INAF), of Cuba.

Also participating in the cordial interview were Ravindra Hewavitharana, Secretary of the Ministry of Plantations and Dr. Saranga Alahapperuma, President of the Coconut Research Board.
