The members of the Cuban Medical Brigade in Belize strongly denounce the arbitrary inclusion of our country on the list of state sponsors of terrorism, reminding the United States government that we, as collaborators, have brought health and well-being to millions of people in Belize. the most intricate places on our planet, where other professionals do not go, due to the neoliberal policy imposed by you on the majority of nations and that has turned medical care into a lucrative business, one that commercializes the most basic of human rights. : health.
The Cuban collaborators in this vital sphere are characterized by brotherhood, humanism, and stoically and voluntarily helping all those in need. We are not slaves nor do we live in a terrorist country, on the contrary, we have a Cuba that promotes peace, solidarity and cooperation among nations.
We have suffered for more than 60 years, an unfair economic, commercial and financial blockade that hinders the acquisition of medicines and medical technology of American origin or with more than 10% of components from that country; the availability of technological equipment; the impossibility of improving the technical condition and supply of spare parts to many medical and non-medical equipment.
There have been multiple obstacles that we continue to face, and we have done so with the commitment, professionalism, knowledge and sensitivity that characterizes us.
The North American government is the true terrorist, for depriving us of our international rights by applying coercive measures in an area as sensitive as health, to a country that defends its sovereignty and national independence and thinks differently than you. We believe in our socialist social system and in our Revolution.
We demand the immediate and unconditional exclusion of Cuba from the list of state sponsors of terrorism, as well as the cessation of the criminal economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed on us.
