The Cuban ambassador to Malaysia, accredited to the Philippines, Florentino Batista González, visited the city of Manila this week at the official invitation of the President of the Philippines, on the occasion of the 126th anniversary of that country's independence.
Batista González gave an official greeting to the president, His Excellency Ferdinand Marcos Jr., at the national palace in Malacañang.
During the celebrations for National Day, the Cuban ambassador had meetings with the Philippine Foreign Minister Enrique Manalo and with the Minister of Health of that nation, Teodoro Herbosa, and with both high officials he spoke about the possible joint actions that can be carried out between Cuba and Philippines.
The diplomat also held a meeting with the director general for the Americas of the Foreign Ministry, Victor Chang-Gonzaga, with whom they reviewed the status of issues of mutual interest for both nations.
