Several actions were developed this weekend in Calcutta, capital of the Indian state of West Bengal, to promote Cuba's commercial and economic ties with this region. Under the initiative of the Indian Economic and Trade Organization (IETO), an India/Cuba business conference was held, which was attended by a large number of businessmen and had as a key moment the announcement of the appointment of Naresh Juneja as IETO commissioner for business with Cuba in Calcutta. Naresh, who is a prominent local businessman, had previously inaugurated, together with Ambassador Alejandro Simancas, the Cuba office, which will play an important role in the development of bilateral relations.
During the day, the Cuban diplomat was also received at the headquarters of the Indian Chamber of Commerce by its vice-president Pradep Sureka, where an interactive session on business opportunities was held.
In addition to Naresh Juneja, Asif Iqbal, president of IETO, who recently returned from Cuba and presented the excellent results of his recent business mission, also participated in all the meetings.
In this way, Cuba and West Bengal strengthen their relations and create conditions, through the support of IETO, to develop trade and economic ties.
