Trade union organization of the Philippines, condemns the inclusion of Cuba in the list of state sponsors of terrorism

Kuala Lumpur, January 15- The independent trade union center Kilusang Mayo Uno strongly condemned the inclusion of Cuba by the United States government in the list of state sponsors of terrorism.

According to the statement released yesterday that “Cuba has suffered a cruel economic, commercial and financial blockade for almost 60 years, which has been the main impediment to the full development of the country.

It also explains that “The sanctions amount to a strangulation of the Cuban people. But despite this, the Cuban government and people have shown their firm determination to raise the people's standard of living. Now it is a country with a highly educated population and a health system that serves everyone in Cuba and helps other countries in need.

For all of the above, Kilusang deplores the continuing belligerent policy of the United States towards Cuba and denies that it is a terrorist or a state sponsor of terrorism, on the contrary, it is a victim of terrorism, in particular of United States terrorism.

Kilusan is a broad-based alliance made up of progressive left-wing individuals and organizations seeking comprehensive social, economic and political justice in the Philippines. It originated in the late 1960s and currently has subsidiaries in the United States, Canada, the Netherlands, and Australia.
