Jakarta, November 22nd- An image of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz integrates from today the gallery of personalities who had been awarded with the “Star of Soekarno” distinction.
On the occasion of the second anniversary of the death of the leader of the Cuban Revolution, H.E. Nirsia Castro Guevara, Ambassador of Cuba in Indonesia, handed the iconography to Mrs. Rachmawati Soekarnoputri, Founder of the Soekarno Educational Foundation.
The ceremony took place in the framework of the annual graduation of Bung Karno University with the presence of members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Jakarta, national personalities, and Sandiaga Uno, ex deputy Jakarta´s governor and candidate for opposition to the vice president of the Southeast Asian nation.
The opportunity was also appropriate to acknowledge the friendship and admiration professed by Mrs. Soekarnoputri to Cuban people, Cuban Revolution and his leader Fidel Castro.
In 2015, the Soekarno Foundation conferred the “Star of Soekarno” distinction to the Commander in Chief. This organization was created by Rachmawati Soekarnoputri, daughter of Ahmed Soekarno, the founder of Indonesia´s independence, its first president, and a good friend of Cuban Revolution.
