Tribute to José Martí in public school in Delhi.

The first secretary in charge of consular affairs of the Cuban Embassy in India, Lourdes Aguilera León, and the third secretary Malena Rojas Medina, visited the José Martí public school located in New Delhi to pay tribute to the National Hero in front of his bust, on the occasion of the 127th anniversary of his fall in combat.

The two diplomats had a dialogue with the school principal, Professor K. Karunashree, who spoke about the characteristics of the center, which has an enrollment of more than 3,000 students from kindergarten to pre-university level, and highlighted the study conditions faced by students and teachers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

During the exchange, the Cuban representatives also highlighted the achievements of the Revolution in education and referred to the conditions of the new school year in Cuba after having immunized more than 90 percent of the population, including children over 2 years of age with vaccines produced in the country against COVID-19.

It was agreed to carry out activities and exchanges to bring the students and teachers of the center closer to the life and work of the Apostle, as well as to the culture and history of Cuba.
