Tribute paid in Trinidad and Tobago to the victims of crime in Barbados.

Port of Spain, October 6, 2023. 47 years after the terrorist attack against the Cubana de Aviación plane, which took 73 innocent lives, representatives of the people and governments of Cuba and Trinidad and Tobago gathered at the "Piarco" airport in the city of Port of Spain to place a wreath before the plaque in tribute to the victims of that violent action.

This year the tribute acquired special relevance as it was commemorated a few months after the VIII CARICOM-Cuba Summit, which declared October 6 as "CARICOM-Cuba Against Terrorism Day" in memory of the civilians who died in the attack and featured the presence of the Honorable Senator Dr. Amery Browne, Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.

Also attending were the Ambassador of Venezuela in Trinidad and Tobago, a representation of the local police and airport authorities; members of the solidarity movement Trinidad & Tobago Friends of Cuba (TTFC) and the Social Justice Movement (MSJ), as well as members of the Cuban Medical Brigade that provides services in this country and the staff of the Cuban Embassy.

The interventions carried out recalled the tragic event and the pain caused to the people of Cuba and the Caribbean. Likewise, they highlighted the achievements obtained by the Cuban Revolution to maintain its independence, its dignity and the right to exist as a nation, despite the aggressions of the North American government and once again addressed the need to end the blockade against the people of Cuba. and demand that the US government exclude Cuba from the list of countries that supposedly sponsor terrorism.
