Trinidad y Tobago, July 27, 2015 - In a ceremony organized by the Friendship Association of Trinidad and Tobago "Friends of Cuba", the Cuban Brigades of al Health and Sport and the Embassy of Cuba in Trinidad and Tobago, was commemorated the 62nd anniversary 62nd anniversary of the Assault on the Moncada Barracks. In this ocation more than two hundred Cuban health and sport practicioners in this Caribbean country were present, accompanied by dozens of Trinitarian friends all over the island.
During the celebration took the flour Clayde Callender, president of the Friendship Association of Trinidad and Tobago "Friends of Cuba"; Coromoto Godoy, Ambassador of Venezuela, Dr. Mariano Betancourt on behalf of the Medical Brigade and Alex Gonzalez, Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of Cuba. The speakers highlighted the importance of the Assault on the Moncada barracks as a driving spark of the Cuban Revolution, as well as the solidarian vocation of the people of Cuba, that has allowed the formation of valuable human resources and improving the quality of life of many people worldwide.
The occasion was propitious for Cuba Friendship Association - Trinidad Tobago made public a statement urging the US government to lift the blockade and return the Guantanamo Naval Base to the People of Cuba.
Also the occasion was used to deliver diplomas to reward the work of the most outstanding work of health and sport practicioners in TT.
The celebration concluded with a cultural moment dedicated to cuban dance and cuisine.
