Port of Spain, February 27 - The Minister of Public Health of Trinidad and Tobago, Dr. Terrence Deyalsingh, received Guillermo Vázquez Moreno, ambassador of Cuba to the Caribbean island, at the institution's headquarters. The Minister was accompanied by Richard Madray and Dr. Roshan Padasran, permanent secretary and chief of medical assistance of the Ministry.
The parties discussed several topics of bilateral interest, among which stands out the continuity and perspectives for the strengthening of the fruitful and recognized relations of bilateral cooperation in the medical sector, as a result of which a hundred Cuban health collaborators work at the moment., which includes doctors, nurses and pharmacists. At present, both countries are working on updating the bilateral cooperation agreement. Likewise, was discussed the status of the projects under evaluation that will allow the entry to Trinidad and Tobago of important Cuban medicines.
The Cuban Ambassador took the opportunity to deliver to the Minister a letter from his Cuban counterpart Dr. Roberto Morales Ojeda, inviting him to participate in the International Convention "Cuba Salud 2018" to be held from April 23 to 27, at the Palace of Conventions of Havana, Cuba.
The meeting took place in a cordial and relaxed atmosphere, reflecting the excellent relations of friendship between both governments and peoples.
