Trinidadians pay tribute to the Commander in Chief Fidel Castro

 

Port of Spain, November 22-In commemoration of the first anniversary of the passing of Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, a broad representation of the people of Trinidad and Tobago workers and members of political and trade union organizations, Cuban citizens and international guests participated in a seminar on the life and work of the Leader of the Cuban Revolution and the validity of his political thought and his example for all the peoples of the world. The member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (CCP) and Head of the Department of International Relations of the CCP, José Ramón Balaguer, presided over the Seminar and offered a central conference, among other presentations that highlighted the legacy of the Commander in the struggle for the unity of the Latin American and Caribbean peoples, peace and sustainable development of our continent.

The Cuban Ambassador also addressed those present in which he highlighted Fidel's call for solidarity and friendship among peoples. The President of the Trinidad and Tobago-Cuba Friendship Association, the leader of the Social Justice Party, among others, also spoke.

There were also several groups of students and a representation of young Venezuelan workers.

In the afternoon, the second part of the seminar was held to examine the current international situation in the world and in particular in the region in which the validity of the ideas and the projection of Fidel was highlighted. Commander Balaguer emphasized the concept of the Commander in Chief's Revolution and the depth of his words.
