Abuja, May 31, 2024.- “The big American rooster has tried for more than six decades to devour little Cuba; but the latter is a needle that the rooster may be unable to bite, chew or swallow.”
Despite the injustices that the government of the United States of America has been imposing on our people, the fight for the truth continues strong and active.
Owei Lakemfa, current president of the Society for the Awareness of International Relations (SIRA) since 2020, has stood out for being a trade unionist, journalist, human rights activist, but above all a friend and companion of Cuba.
In his article "The big American cock and the small Cuban needle", he recounts how Cuba since the first years of the Revolution has been plagued by the expansionist desires of the United States government.
With mentions such as "The Cuban project" signed by President John Fitzgerald Kennedy in 1961, the failed "Operation Mongoose", the Bay of Pig Invasion, the economic commercial blockade and among the latest actions the inclusion of Cuba in the list of countries sponsors of terrorism, reflects the struggle of the Cuban people for their survival and development against one of the greatest powers in history.
