Havana, December 4th, 2020. In a statement released by the organization, published on the Cubaperiodistas.cu website, the UPEC warns that, as it usually happens in these cases of the Psychological Operations Manual of the American military and intelligence agencies, these battles are deployed from the digital context and then into the streets.
We have seen it again and again in Venezuela, Bolivia, Nicaragua, Ecuador, Argentina and Brazil, as part of the permanent experimental laboratory of the US imperialism, which uses the same formula to generate the pretexts that allow it to activate more sanctions and even to justify its military adventures.
They create the problem while also promise a solution that leads to more suffering for our peoples, added the text, published under the title Dialogue, Yes, Blackmail, Never.
It points out that from the private digital media and Florida's far-right intoxication laboratories, the Cuban government has been blamed for inciting the civil war and even demanding a military intervention by the international forces, led by the United States.
The latter, according to the document, has just been requested by Osvaldo Gutierrez Boronat, a terrorist and a crony of Felix Rodriguez, a CIA (Central Intelligence Agency) agent, who is also one of the assassins of Ernesto Che Guevara; they are waiting for a dead person, warns the UPEC.
It warns that this tactic of psychological warfare could escalate in the next few hours, and that is why the organization that brings together all the professionals of the Cuban press supports the decision of the Ministry of Culture not to meet with the people who have direct contact and receive funding, logistical support and propaganda backing from the US government and its officials.
Nor will it do so with the media funded by the US federal agencies, it adds.
The UPEC also refers that these highly-polarized media, dedicated to the manipulation and the media intoxication, do not do journalism, but are at the service of a machine of distorted or directly false information with declared political objectives.
They have not been able to have a single journalist from our public media on their side, those whom they insult, reward in absentia and permanently harass them to demobilize them and to manipulate them to the right and left. At this minute, and as always, we support our colleagues in the press, their noble work of reporting attached to the truth and from the ethical values.
The UPEC calls on all the Cuban journalists to be permanently informed and cohesive, to denounce all provocations, to dialogue with all those who genuinely want to do so, and to strengthen the alliances with the communication professionals in the world in order to generate the necessary counterweights against the international chain of disinformation that is already in progress.
As journalists and communicators of a country that has been a victim of terrorism in all orders, literally and in the media, we denounce the manipulation and the political opportunism to cover up an extremely dangerous fourth-generation war operation, emphasizes the statement, which concludes: We say loud and clear:
Dialogue, Yes, Blackmail, Never!.
