Havana, June 27, 2022.- In the context of the Cuba-India Political Consultations, to be held on June 27 in Havana, the Vice Prime Minister of Cuba, Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz, held a meeting with the Secretary (East) of the Ministry of External Affairs of India, Saurabh Kumar.
Vice Premier Cabrisas and the Secretary (East) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs highlighted the positive state of relations between the two countries and agreed on the broad prospects for strengthening economic, trade, financial and cooperation ties between the two countries, even in the complex circumstances facing the world economy.
During the meeting, the Vice Prime Minister highlighted the role that India can play in the development of priority sectors of the National Economic and Social Development Plan of Cuba until 2030, such as renewable energy sources, agriculture and biotechnology.
At the end of the meeting, the signing of a 100 million Euro Line of Credit Agreement took place, an expression of the common interest in continuing to expand economic relations between the two nations.
The agreement was signed by the president of Banco Exterior de Cuba, Ernesto Medina Rosales and by the general director of EximBank, Nirmit Ved, who was represented at the event by the ambassador of the Republic of India in Cuba, H.E. Dr. S. Janakiraman.
