The Vice President of Namibia, Nickey Iyambo, as Acting President sent a Condolence Message to President Raul Castro over Hurricane Irma.

Cuban President Raul Castro received a message of condolences over the passing of Hurricane Irma from the Namibian Vice President, Dr. Nickey Iyambo, who serves as Acting President as mandatary Hage Geingob is in New York participating in the United Nations General Assembly.

Your Excellency and Dear Brother,

I have learnt with great shock and horror of the devastating landfall of Hurricane Irma that caused tragic loss of life and enormous destruction of infrastructure.

On behalf of the Government and people of the Republic of Namibia, and on my own behalf, I wish to extend our heartfelt condolences and sympathy to you Dear Brother, the bereaved families and affected communities. The Namibian nation shares your sorrow, in the aftermath of wat we understand to be the worst storm in the history of your great nation.

As we grieve together during this difficult period, we wish you strength and determination to overcome this tragic ordeal, and embark on the monumental task of reconstruction.
